It hasn't taken long for the cream to rise to
the top, with glamour sides Brisbane,
Melbourne and Sydney racing to the top as the
only undefeated sides.
Singapore Slingers climbed off the bottom with
a hard-fought 101-86 win over Townsville,
while Perth Wildcats had to hang on against a
late surge from South Dragons before some
steadying baskets at the end.
Cairns Taipans split their road trip, with both
their games being tight, low-scoring clashes.
Also tight was the Melbourne Tigers' visit to
the Gold Coast Convention Centre, where the
Blaze refused the Victorian visitors any easy
baskets and narrowly failed to complete what
would have been a remarkable victory.
West Sydney have been surprise packets this
season, and continued their succesful run with
a 104-96 win on the road against the
under-achieving New Zealand Breakers.
Brisbane Bullets confirmed themselves as top
side, the defending champions getting up by 9
points at home against Perth Wildcats, and
again on the road against the Crocodiles by a
convincing 29 points.
